Single-origin streams rise and fall with individual refinery runs; blended supply smooths availability and price. The trade-off is variability — which is why a blended stream is bought on analysis, not origin: FFA, TFM and MIU on the lot certificate define what the oil is, whoever its parents were.
Who buys, and for what
Soap manufacturers convert fatty matter directly into saleable TFM in laundry and industrial soaps. Biodiesel plants run it as low-cost FAME feedstock. Feed formulators use it as energy fat where regulations permit, and oleochemical splitters, grease and candle makers absorb the balance.
