Everything else is negotiation.
Four industries, one feedstock
Soap and oleochemical manufacturers formulate on TFM — total fatty matter — and FAO delivers it economically. Feed millers use it as energy fat where regulations permit. Biodiesel producers value it as low-cost FAME feedstock. And fatty acid distillers refine it further into fractionated acids, with candles and industrial greases rounding out demand.
Reading a spec sheet
The four numbers that decide a deal: FFA (free fatty acids, the reactive share), TFM (total fatty matter), MIU (moisture, impurities, unsaponifiables — the discount factors) and iodine value (unsaturation, which guides end use).
